Sound Installation



“The Architecture of Real-Time” is a spatial sound installation that analyses the physical infrastructure of real-time systems by exploring the use of optical fibre as a structural and sensory material. The work investigates how the underlying conditions of invisible systems such as real-time systems can be made tangible. To achieve this, the installation uses optical fibre to transmit sound in the form of coded signals from the centre of the structure to its edges, creating an immersive soundscape that spreads throughout the room. Through this process, the installation transforms design research and text-based practice into an intuitive, inhabitable spatial experience.

The invisible architecture of these systems affects inequality, attention, and social interaction, showing that technology is not neutral but an active force in structuring human experience. To make these invisible architecture of real time systems visible is crucial to understanding their dynamics and to questioning the environments we inhabit, the realities we accept as natural, and the ways in which technology silently governs our life.
